    Hi Vladimir,

Ok, thanks. So I will implement it into the functions.php for now, until you will release the integration into the user interface.

What would be very important from my perspective is, to have the option to also synchronize the main site’s module settings to all the sub-sites (in addition to newly registered sites), so, actually an extension of the current “Apply to All Sites”-checkbox. This is very important to have consistent settings all over the whole multisite network. On large multisite networks, the consistency, and therefore also the security, becomes a big issue, if the settings have to be manually copied over to loads of sub-sites. Do you plan to implement this extension too?

    Thanks!

    Hi Vladimir,

Thank you very much for the new 4.45 update! As I saw, the “copy module settings” is now integrated into URE Pro for newly registered sub-sites. However, I didn’t get how to activate it. Actually, I expected the “Apply to All Sites”-checkbox on the main site to be extended by this feature. Is it supposed to add the code at https://www.role-editor.com/documentation/hooks/ure_addons_to_copy_for_new_blog/ to the functions.php in the child theme or to add an mu-plugin?

    Thanks!
    Urs

Yes, I agree. The URE Pro support is really excellent, thanks Vladimir! I look forward to the network wide default rules…

    Hi Vladimir,

Just wondering if this feature got already implemented into the latest version 4.44? If yes, how can I use it? Will you release a How-To?

    Thanks,
    Urs

    Hi Vladimir,

Thanks so much, this is excellent news! Related to this topic about sub-site user roles, I just had an additional suggestions which came to my mind:
Some plugins (e.g. LiteSpeed Cache or Imsanity) have an option in the network settings which allow to switch between individual settings configured within each sub-site or to disable the individual settings and use global setting for the whole WPMU network. I think a switch in “Network Admin > Settings > User Role Editor” would be a very good addition for the URE Pro!

    Thanks for your amazing plugin!

    Best wishes,

    Hi Vladimir,

Thanks for your reply! As I’m building a multisite with the option to self-sign-up for a sub-site, it’s very important to have the full control over the sub-site admin’s capabilities. E.g. I have the security plugin BPS Pro installed, which provides security admin options on the sub-sites which are very important to hide from single site admins! So, could you please implement the copying of main site URE “Admin Menu” settings to newly registered sites, so I can hide these? This would be absolutely great!

    Thanks!

    Hi Vladimir,

Thank you very much! Is the line with _wpnonce actually needed? As the url does not contain more arguments the code also works without this line…

    Thanks

    Hi Vladimir,

Now, as I have activated the LayerSlider Plugin where I get the same issue within the editor using the following url:
    /wp-admin/admin.php?page=layerslider&action=edit&id=1

What does the code above has to look like if the url is much longer like this?

    Hi Vladimir,

Thanks so much for your reply! I think now I finally got what the issue actually is about. Thanks for the code, I added a mu-plugin which works fine.

So, if URE Pro blocks legitimate url arguments, then of course other customers will have the same issue too, as the number of url arguments is endless and this of course is an issue. The mu-plugin works, but this is rather a workaround then a proper solution. Therefore, I’d suggest to complement URE Pro with the option of a “url arguments whitelist”. Maybe you already know Bullet Proof Security Pro. This plugin does a similar thing. It blocks all plugin scripts by default and then provides a whitelist for legitimate scripts. All the plugin scripts get added to a textbox separated by commas – that’s it. I could imagine something similar for URE Pro. What do you think about this idea?

    Best wishes,
    Urs

    Hi Vladimir,

It looks like we have the same (or a similar) bug again. This time with the plugin Real Media Library (https://codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-real-media-library-media-categories-folders/13155134). If I chose a RML-folder (e.g. https://fclandquart.ch/wp-admin/upload.php?rml_folder=1), then I’m forwarded to the dashboard instead of accessing the requested folder, which is exactly the same issue as I had in the previous posts above. If I deactivate the user role editor pro, everything works correctly.

    Thanks for fixing it.

    Best,
    Urs

    Hi Vladimir,

I just found one more of these recent editor “dashboard-forwarding” bugs. The editor gets forwarded to the dashboard if accessing the second menu in the drop-down list. See viedeo:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/ogcszwy12qsyuv4/bug04.mov?dl=0

    Thanks for fixing it.

Just wondering: Am I the only user, facing these kind of forwarding bugs? There are obviously a lot of this kind. And why this happens? Especially this bug seems strange to me, as I already submitted exactly the same bug about half a year ago (https://www.role-editor.com/forums/topic/activate-administrator-menu-access-module-bug/) – see my very first post in this topic from 21/02/2016 at 08:43. Why this happens again? I thought it was already fixed…

    Thanks.

    Best wishes,
    Urs
