When I set a featured image for a custom post, my custom role cannot edit the Caption, Alt Text and Description fields for the image. All of these fields are set to “disabled” and I cannot place my cursor in the fields.

When my custom role uploads an image to a page and adds a caption to that image, the caption is not saved in the media library. For WordPress default roles, when you upload an image with a caption, that caption IS saved in the media library for future use.

Are these media issues known bugs? Or is there a setting that I’m overlooking when creating my custom roles?

    Thanks!

Sorry. I just discovered that this is resolved when I enable “Force custom post types to use their own capabilities”.
