How to hide certain pages from user role in backend but allow front end viewing

Hi! I thought this must have been asked already but I couldn’t see it.
I want to make only a few pages visible to edit for the author role in the backend but allow them to still see all content in the front end. is this easy to do with URE?

Right, it’s possible with content edit restrictions add-on:

Allow user to edit selected posts and pages only

Thanks! That makes sense but now when I try to login with the restricted account is says ‘Sorry you aren’t allowed to view this page’ for any page in the admin area, any ideas?

Give me more information. What settings did you make for restricted user? What do you try as restricted user at the wp-admin? Show screenshots.
