NVM – I spun up a clone of the site and did the usual investigation by disabling all plugins then re-enabling them one by one. It turns out that another plugin was causing the problem but it was fixed after an update. Apologies for bringing it up as an issue on this forum. For the record the user in question does NOT have any additional roles assigned to them.
