Manage central roles in Multisite

Hello,

I would like to have a number of central roles for all the sites in Multisite and would like to create additional roles per site.

When I click Update Network, the additional per site roles are deleted. Is it possible to update the network wide roles and leave the per site roles intact?

Hi Maarten,

“Update Network” replicates all roles from the main site to all subsites of the network and fully overwrites existing subsites roles. Currently it’s not possible to replicate just part of the roles and do not remove roles which does not exist at the main site.

It’s a subject of a future development – may be next year.

Perhaps a practical middle-ground until this feature is ready would be an option per-subsite to just opt-out of the ‘Update Network’ action entirely?
